Troop 3 email group
Troop 3 regularly uses email to distribute information on upcoming events. Parents and scouts should join the Troop 3 email group to be sure you hear what's going on.
To Join the Troop 3 email group:
If you are not yet a member of the Troop 3 email group, please send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org and ask to be added. This is a private email group, so in the email please explain your relationship to troop 3 and why you wish to be added.
To send email to all members of the Troop 3 group:
Note: You must be a member of the group to send email to the group. If you try to send an email to the group before becoming a member it will be blocked
You can send mail to the group at this address: email@example.com
To visit the Troop 3 Group page - to see past emails
Troop 3 uses Google Groups for email communication. You do not have to use gmail to become a member of the Troop 3 email group. However, if you do have a Google account, and if you ask us to add your Google account to the group, then you can go to the group page to view past posts/discussions, create a new post, or to manage your membership settings.
If you don't have a Google account, you can create a free account here. This does not require you to get a gmail address - you can create a Google account with an existing email address.
Remember that this is a private group, so you can only view the group page once you are a member of the group.
To manage your Troop 3 email settings:
You have several choices about what mail you receive. By default, when you join the group, all mail sent to the group will be forwarded to the email address you joined with. If you are getting too much mail, you have other choices:
receive all group email - forwarded to your email address (default)
receive a daily digest: at most one email per day that summarizes all email from the day
remain a member of the group - but do not have group email forwarded to your email address (you can view group mail on the group web page)
If you have a google account you can manage your membership settings yourself on the group page.
If you don't have a google account and would like your settings changed, just send your request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can remove yourself from a group using any of these steps:
Option 1: Reply to an email from the group with REMOVE ME as the subject of your message.
Option 2: Send an email to email@example.com.
Option 3: Send a blank email (no text in the body of the message) with the subject line: "Unsubscribe" to the group's email address
Option 4: Edit your settings.
Open Google Groups.
Click My Groups > troop3evanston
In the upper-right corner, click My Settings > Leave this group.
You can adjust your settings so that you stay a member, but stop receiving group email.
