Order of the Arrow
Welcome, Troop 3 Arrowman, and congratulations on your induction into the Order of the Arrow! Troop 3 is highly involved in the Order, and you can be too! Below is some information on how to get involved. For more information, please talk to your Troop OA Representative at a troop meeting or event.
We're part of MaKaJaWan Lodge 40, the OA Lodge that encompasses the Northeast Illinois Council. You can view the Lodge Calendar from the Lodge 40 website (link on the left) to find out about great things to do with the Lodge, including service projects, fun regional conclaves, and more!
Our Troop is part of the Lodge's Namachani Chapter. Chapter meetings occur on second Thursday of every month at 7:30 PM, St. Joseph School in Wilmette.
WHAT IS THE ORDER OF THE ARROW?
If you're not familiar with the Order, suffice it to say that the OA is Scouting's national "honor society". For more than 90 years, the Order of the Arrow (OA) has recognized Scouts and Scouters who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. This recognition provides encouragement for others to live these ideals as well. Arrowmen are known for maintaining camping traditions and spirit, promoting year-round and long term resident camping, and providing cheerful service to others. OA service, activities, adventures, and training for youth and adults are models of quality leadership development and programming that enrich and help to extend Scouting to America's youth.
