It's a Troop 3 tradition.  Our final campout of the year:  capture the flag on the tunes.  It's so popular, there's never any talk of changing the tradition, so it's back for 2018!

posted Sep 5, 2017, 5:25 PM by Jeff Wootton

Hey scouts - while you might not have been looking forward to the start of the school year, we know you have been looking forward to the start of the Scouting year!  This week is a big week:

  • Our first regular troop meeting of the year is this Thursday, September 7th, at Orrington. Troop meetings are every week, and as always, Dodgeball is 7:30-8 and the meeting runs from 8-9.
  • The first campout is this weekend. Weather forecast is great, and we'll be camping nearby in the Forest Preserve - and there's talk of some bicycle riding (still working on plans).  If you can attend, please email Mr. Wallin (or troop3evanston@gmail.com).

Sign up now for Ma Ka Ja Wan

posted Mar 2, 2017, 6:11 PM by Jeff Wootton

The time has come to sign up for Summer Camp at Camp Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan. If you've been before, we're sure you want to go back.  If you've never been: you'll love it. If you're not sure:  talk to your fellow scouts that have been there - they'll tell you what a great time it is.

We need you to sign up now, so that we know how many scouts will be going.

Unlike previous years, we were only able to reserve our campsite for one week.   If you want to stay a second week, there's a checkbox on the sign-up form to indicate interest in a provisional 2nd week.   If we have enough interest, we might be able to form a patrol for the second week.

Summer Camp Week is June 25 - July 1, 2017

Cost for planning is $335 per week per Scout.

Adults cost $150 per week after the "free adults" based on the number of Scouts we have attending.

Deposit of $125 per Scout is due by April 1, or as soon as you can give it to us but no later than May 1  since we need to register everyone by May 15  to lock in these prices. Prices go up after April 1.

Adults do not need a Deposit.   Full payment is due by May 15.
